What is the maximum guest capacity of the barn?
Our rustic barn wedding venue can accommodate up to 225 guests! If you’re booking for a wedding, be sure to include the bridal party in your count. If you are interested in renting Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest for a concert or another event that may have a higher attendance but does not require seating for everyone, let’s talk! We may be able to accommodate a larger party.
Is the venue climate-controlled for all seasons?
Yes! Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest is designed to provide year-round comfort, making it a perfect wedding venue in any season.
Are there restrooms on both levels? Are they accessible?
Does the venue provide parking for guests, and can cars be left there overnight?
Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee? What about linens?
Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest provides tables and chairs for up to 225 guests, making it among the most accommodating Nebraska wedding venues for large events. Rectangular and round tables, as well as chairs, are included in the rental fee. We do not provide linens, but they are available from various local vendors. We can provide recommendations if needed!
Can we bring in our own vendors? Do you have a list of vendors you would share with us?
You may bring in your own vendors! All vendors are subject to our approval and must provide proof of insurance and any required licensing.
Is there a designated area for outdoor ceremonies?
Yes! We have a beautiful outdoor space for your ceremony at our Nebraska wedding venue. Take a look.
What backup options are available in case of bad weather?
Do you have insurance, and are we required to get additional coverage?
Our venue is insured, but every client is required to obtain additional event insurance at their own expense. You can expect the cost to be around $240.
Is there a cancellation or rescheduling policy?
We understand that life happens and plans can change. If you need to cancel your event, any payments made up to the cancellation date are non-refundable. That said, we do our best to approach every situation with understanding and care—partial refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but we can’t guarantee them.
To explore this option, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible and prior to your next payment due date. Please know that cancellations make it challenging for us to rebook the venue, but we’ll work with you to navigate the situation as smoothly as possible.

Yes! Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest is located on a working farm, which means tractors and farm equipment are in use. While we take every precaution to ensure a safe and smooth event experience, it’s important for all guests to be aware that farm operations continue throughout the year.

Catering Questions
Do you have on-site catering, or do we need to hire an external caterer?
Are there kitchen facilities for the caterer to use?
Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest has a large kitchen available for your caterer’s use!
Can we bring our own alcohol, or do you require a licensed vendor?
No outside alcohol allowed. We provide all bar services, and alcohol can be purchased through Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest.
Are there any minimum guest counts for bar services?
Do you allow food trucks or unique catering options?
Yes! We love when couples bring in fun, unique catering options like food trucks. As long as they’re licensed and insured, they’re more than welcome at Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest!
Do you provide dinnerware, glassware, and utensils?
What are the policies on leftovers and catering clean-up?
Are there any menu restrictions based on venue policies?
Not at this time! We want your menu to reflect your style and tastes, so feel free to get creative. If you have any questions or need recommendations, we’re happy to help.
Planning Questions
How far in advance can we book the venue?
We are booking now for events in Fall of 2025 and beyond! Check our calendar and contact us to get your spot reserved. Your spot cannot be guaranteed until we receive your deposit and signed contract.
Is there an on-site coordinator available during planning and on the wedding day?
Do you offer packages, or is everything à la carte?
We are committed to keeping our pricing simple, with minimal add-on fees, so everything we have available is included in your price.
Do you offer payment plans, and what are the due dates for payments?
To secure your date, we require a 50% date reservation fee. From there, the first payment is due 9 months before your event, and the final payment is due 3 months prior to the big day. We’ve designed this schedule to make planning as smooth and stress-free as possible! If you have any questions about payments, just let us know—we’re here to help.
What is your policy on decorations? Are there any restrictions?
Can we have a rehearsal at the venue? If so, when?
You will be invited to our exclusive Open Houses for booked couples, and you are welcome to hold a rehearsal at one of those events. This is an opportunity for your bridal party to familiarize themselves with the venue before your special day! We’ll explain how this part works during your booking process; our couples love the flexibility.
Does your floor plan allow different layout options?
It does! Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest has an open floor plan that allows your layout options to be flexible.
Do you allow early access for set-up and decorating?
Many wedding venues limit set-up time, but Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest prioritizes giving you plenty of time for decorating. All start and end times will be listed in your contract and will need to be reviewed carefully before signing.
Are dogs allowed on-site for the ceremony or photos?
We welcome dogs at Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest for ceremonies and photos! We ask that you let us know prior to your event and that you follow our guidelines to ensure a fun, safe experience for both animals and guests.
We kindly request that your dogs participate only in the ceremony and photos and leave promptly afterward. The lively celebrations that follow may be overwhelming for them. This request is made out of care, love, and consideration for their well-being.
Prior to the ceremony, dogs are to be outside and avoid indoor areas and food zones. Please keep your dog leashed and assign a designated caretaker (other than the wedding couple) so you can fully enjoy your special day!
Setup and Day-of-Event Questions
When can vendors begin setup on the wedding day?
When you reserve Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest for your wedding, we do not schedule any other events on that day. We will accommodate your vendor’s schedules as much as possible! All start and end times will be listed in the contract and should be reviewed before signing.
Are there staff members available to assist with setup and teardown?
Our team will handle the setup and teardown of tables and chairs for your event. All other decorations and setup will be your responsibility, but don’t worry—we’ll be around if you need guidance or have questions throughout the process. We’re here to help make everything run smoothly!
Who is responsible for cleanup after the event?
Do you have specific guidelines for lighting or sound equipment?
We kindly ask that no lights or equipment be attached to the venue in any way. This helps us maintain the barn’s beauty for everyone to enjoy. If you need recommendations for setup, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to assist!
Is there a bridal suite or groom’s quarters available for getting ready? Are they accessible?
Both the spacious bridal suite and groom’s quarters are available for wedding preparations and pictures from 12 pm until the event start time. We request that the bridal party secure their belongings and check out of both areas at that time. Suites will be locked during the ceremony and reception.
Our bride and groom suites are located on the second floor of Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest, but we have an accessible room available on the ground floor to accommodate anyone in your wedding party with mobility issues.
Can the barn accommodate both ceremony and reception setups?
Do you have emergency contact information for venue staff on the day of the event?
What time do we need to vacate the premises?
Are there restrictions on confetti, sparklers, or other send-off items?
Fireworks are strictly forbidden at the Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest.
Confetti, sparklers, glitter, rice, etc. are not allowed inside or outside of the venue.
